Changwon National University occurs as public institution of higher education located in Changwon, an industrial city in the southeast of South Korea. History

A school opened inside neighboring Masan in 1969, as Masan College of Education (마산교육대학). Its mandate was broadened to Masan Junior College inside 1978, and it became only Masan College around 1979. At this instance it experienced the utmost annual intake of 400 students. A school was moved & renamed within 1985, becoming Changwon National College. It became the university within 1991.
